As the racing world has been upended by COVID-19, Starlight Racing partners still have much to look forward to!
Charlatan, now 2 for 2 and having earned two triple digit Beyer numbers along the way (the 2 highest Beyer figures of any 3 year old this year), will be running in this weekend’s G1 Arkansas Derby. This will be his toughest test to date but he is still the even-money, morning-line favorite. The G1 Arkansas Derby will be run in two divisions. Charlatan is in the first division.
Saturday’s races can be viewed from 1-8:00 p.m. EDT on FS1; 3-6:00 p.m. EDT on NBC; 6-8:00 p.m. on NBCSN; and all day long on TVG.
Authentic, now 3 for 3 with two graded stakes wins this year (G3 Sham Stakes & G2 San Felipe Stakes), has been given a bit of a freshener while remaining in trainer Bob Baffert’s Santa Anita division. He is now back on a regular work schedule but his next race is yet to be determined.
While two-year-old racing has been impacted all over the country with the COVID-19 related closures, cancellations and postponements of racetracks and races, our StarLadies 2-year-old fillies continue to train forwardly with hopes of running soon!
Flatterful (pictured here) has been doing great while training at Payton Training Center and shipped to Todd Pletcher’s Palm Beach Downs division on April 30th where her preparations for racing will intensify.
Jordan’s Leo is on a regular training schedule (galloping and breezing) at Payton Training Center.
Sophiery (pronounced so fiery) is moving along nicely and will continue on a weekly work schedule at Payton Training Center.
