Hippodrome de Vichy
Vichy was founded on August 22, 1875, by Baron de Veauce, and remains one of France's most important tracks. It is centrally located in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, and is four hours south of Paris. They currently host 17 flat racing meets per year, and it is a park that also hosts trotters and steeplechase racing. The park is built on 53 hectares of land with a galloping track of 2000m, and two training tracks of 900 and 1,600m. One of their most popular events, the European Gallop Festival, is usually run the third week of July. During this event, all of France's owners, trainers and jockeys come together for five consecutive race meetings, culminating in the Vichy Grand Prix Evening, which is run at night. The highlights of the week include three quinté + races, 4 listed races, and 1 Group 3. Track: Turf, 2000 meters Website: https://www.courses-de-vichy.fr
