Los Alamitos Race Course is a horse racing track in Cypress, California. Before it was a track, it was 435 acre ranch owned by former Kentuckian, Frank Vessels Sr., and found its earliest associations with racing as a place where match races were held (by Vessels) in 1947. Today, the track hosts both thoroughbred and quarter horse racing, where the thoroughbreds use the outer 1 mile track and the other breeds the inner 0.625 mile track.
