Authentic’s ‘timing is good’ on his way to Kentucky Derby 2020

On flashy 3-year-old Authentic’s way to the winner’s circle Saturday, trainer Bob Baffert joked with jockey Drayden Van Dyke: “Do you think he’s a little bit too much horse for you?” Van Dyke was quick to answer: “No, no, no — he’s not.” It was just another Saturday on the 2020 Kentucky Derby trail in California, and to no surprise that combination of jockey and trainer prevailed when Authentic took them all the way in the Sham Stakes (G3) at Santa Anita Park.

Evolution of Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance: Founded in 2012 to Tackle Important Issue

When news broke early this decade of poor situations for multiple retired racehorses, concerned horsemen came together to create the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance (TAA) to raise the standard of racehorse aftercare. Starlight and StarLadies Racing is in the process of building our new racing team beginning with two purchases at the July Fasig Tipton sale. We bought Hip #52 Tonalist/Sophie Sophie, Filly ($50,000) and Hip #274 Malibu Moon/Lady Is A Lioness, Filly ($150,000). TWO horses in the 145th Kentucky Derby!

When the starting gates opened for the 145th running of the Kentucky Derby Starlight Racing partners had two   horses to cheer for!Improbable, breaking from post position #5, stalked the leaders throughout the early, middle and later parts of the race but could do no better than 5th–placed 4th after the disqualification. Starladies Racing recently supported the 3rd Annual Girl’s Night Out Kentucky Derby & Oaks Prep Party at Copper & Kings in Louisville. This is quickly becoming a can’t-miss event.
