Our History
In 2000, Starlight Stables was founded by Jack and Laurie Wolf, who had always shared a lifelong passion for thoroughbreds and the thrill of horse racing. In their first year, they purchased 6 yearlings from the Fasig-Tipton July Yearling sale, including a special colt named Harlan’s Holiday. He achieved great success on the track, having won three Grade 1 stakes races and amassing $3.6M in earnings, he remains a source of inspiration that continues to drive Starlight and StarLadies Racing to this day. Harlan’s Holiday later became a successful sire, with the likes of Shanghai Bobby, Neolithic, Into Mischief, and several others.
In 2002, Starlight Stables evolved into Starlight Racing, forming partnerships with friends and welcoming new partners. Over the years, we have celebrated the success of 39 Graded Stakes Champions racing in our iconic blue and yellow silks, acquiring elite yearlings with exceptional bloodlines from top North American auction houses.
In 2015, Laurie Wolf established StarLadies Racing to unite women in thoroughbred racing. This unique partnership exclusively focuses on female partners and the purchase of fillies at yearling sales. Our international venture with It’sAllAboutTheGirls racing syndicate in 2019 allowed us to co-own fillies in France, creating unforgettable experiences before the pandemic paused our travels.
Across all our partnerships, we aim to provide the highest level of racing in the United States. Our partners have witnessed the triumphs of a Triple Crown Winner, 2 Kentucky Derby Winners, 3 Breeders’ Cup Winners, and 38 individual Grade 1 victories, and over 110 stakes wins. Beyond the races, we offer exclusive social events, from attending prestigious yearling sales to gathering in Ocala, Florida, to watch our young horses in action.

Overview of our Partnership Structure
We do not sell shares of individual horses because we offer the same level of service and performance to all of our partners. We want all of our partners to be involved with all of the horses, and to share in all of their successes. We are so proud of all that our partnerships have to offer. Please take a look at our history and awards to learn more about us. Buy-ins happen on a yearly basis and are for partnership horses purchased in that year only.
